Rani was established after several years as a research project within InCube Labs, Mir Imran's multi-disciplinary life sciences lab focused on developing and commercializing breakthrough innovations.
Rani imagines a world without needles: Rani Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotherapeutics company developing technology to enable orally administered biologics and drugs.
A new way of drug delivery: RaniPill® addresses the 30-year-old "gastric barrier" problem. Instead of using chemical absorption methods that provide less than 1 percent bioavailability, Rani has created a simple-to-swallow robotic capsule that delivers biologics through the intestinal wall, offering injectable-like bioavailability without a needle.
Potential to make therapies better, not just more convenient: By delivering the same API dose as an injection, we eliminate the trade-off between oral convenience and clinical performance. We have demonstrated this ability in humans with the first oral monoclonal antibody to reach high bioavailability. This creates a unique opportunity to maintain or even enhance the efficacy and safety profiles of established biologics while optimizing dosing and reducing variability.
Our mission is to improve the lives of millions of patients suffering from chronic conditions by replacing painful injections with a pill designed to minimize GI discomfort. Millions of people must endure painful and inconvenient injections to treat their chronic conditions. Despite the billions that have been invested by big pharma, there exists no effective oral delivery alternative.
